Loyal fans of the actress are demanding that a man who jumped a barricade and grabbed the actress during the recent Wicked: For Good premiere be detained or deported from Singapore.
A circulating video shows the person identified as Johnson Wen pushing past media personnel and charging at Grande while the performers walked down a event pathway surrounded by fans.
Cast member Cynthia Erivo immediately guided the shocked star away from Mr Wen, who was spotted being led away of the event by security officers.
Mr Wen stated on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "free after being arrested", though legal records revealed that he was scheduled to appear on Friday morning. It is uncertain if he was faced legal action.
This is part of a pattern for Mr Wen, who calls himself a "Controversial Figure", has crashed a performance. His Instagram feed features videos of him interrupting other celebrity events, including rushing the platform at Katy Perry's Sydney show in earlier this year and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers performance in the area last winter.
"Steps should be implemented applied against him as this is clearly a punishable act," stated an Instagram commenter, in a response to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his act.
"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" a different Instagram user remarked.
Numerous supporters accused Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had discussed suffering from trauma-related anxiety after a suicide bomb attack at the end of her 2017 concert in Manchester, killing 22 people and wounding hundreds.
"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" commented one more message on Instagram.
Some supporters also criticised event staff at the Thursday event for not being adequately prepared; while different individuals called for online networks to ban Mr Wen's uploads.
In footage shared widely, Grande looked startled when she was touched by the man. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted consoling her while Mr Wen was removed by security.
Grande has not commented on the incident, and the premiere activities continued without further issues.
Hundreds of attendees had assembled in a crowd of colorful attire at the Wicked: For Good Asia-Pacific launch in a Singapore mall, including some who had queued for as long as many hours before it commenced.
The film, to be released on November 21, is the follow-up of a two-part adaptation of the well-known stage musical Wicked, which revolves around the surprising bond between two very different sorceresses.
The show itself is a adaptation of the classic story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Grande, who plays the character Glinda Glinda, was decked out in a champagne pink glittering gown at the event while Erivo, who acts as the villainous character, wore a black tube gown featuring roses.
They were joined by co-star Jeff Goldblum.
The first movie, Wicked, was the most successful motion picture of the previous year in the UK, and earned ten Oscar nominations, securing two for best costume and set decoration.
