Man Who Reached For Ariana Grande during Movie Premiere Prohibited from Singapore

A man from Australia that leaped over a barricade and touched celebrity Ariana Grande has been deported and prohibited from Singapore.

The man, twenty-six, was given a sentence to over a week in jail for disrupting public order and has now been "barred from re-entering Singapore," Singaporean immigration authorities informed news outlets.

The man shoved beyond security and approached aggressively the celebrity, who was participating in the Asian debut for the film on 13 November. Co-performer Cynthia Erivo wrestled him away from Grande.

The individual has a record of causing disturbances at events and star-studded occasions, including rushing the stage at the pop star's Australian show in June this year.

The incident sparked outrage in Singapore, with many saying he of triggering past trauma for the singer.

The celebrity has mentioned dealing with PTSD after a suicide bomb attack at her performance in the UK city in May 2017 resulted in the deaths of 22 people and hurt numerous attendees.

In the legal process, the court heard he had made efforts to breach on the movie's debut on two occasions, according to Singaporean media.

He then made a second attempt to jump the barricades. Security staff intercepted him and held him in place.

He then uploaded video clips thanking Grande for allowing his presence and said he was "released."

Authorities detained him the following day and brought charges against him with causing a disturbance, to which he confessed.

The Court Judge the magistrate was quoted by Channel News Asia as saying that he was looking for publicity, adding that he was wrong to believe he would not face any penalties.

The actress has not addressed the incident.

Cynthia Erivo spoke about the situation to NBC, saying that she "only aimed to verify my friend was secure."

"I'm sure he had no intention to us danger, but you never know with those things, and I sought to ensure that she was OK. That was my initial reaction," she stated.
