Ahead of marking his six-year milestone at the helm, Mikel Arteta has admitted that his future at Arsenal is inextricably linked to winning major honors.

The Journey So Far: From Appointment to Present

Arteta was appointed on 20 December 2019 and soon guided the team to an FA Cup triumph not long after. However, that early success remains his lone top-tier trophy since succeeding Unai Emery.

“Yes,” he stated upon being asked about remaining in charge after his current deal. “However, it is about today. And many things have to happen in the coming months as well to warrant that continuation.”

The manager referenced the team's performances as evidence of progress. “Consider the performances, all the records that we... were breaking... We still haven’t managed to do that [win trophies]. But that tells you the level we are at.”
