Jurgen Klopp, who stepped down from Anfield in 2024, remarked that returning someday remains a possibility. The 58-year-old, following a hugely successful nine-year spell featuring continental glory and the Premier League crown for three decades, currently occupies roles overseeing worldwide football with the Red Bull group and providing guidance for the DFL.
They secured England's top flight under Arne Slot, though countless followers who adore the manager would embrace the idea that he might come back one day. Speaking candidly, he explained to Steven Bartlett: āI said I won't manage a different club in England. Which implies if then itās Liverpool...yeah. In theory, it could happen.ā
āBeing 58, that means I might decide in a few years, it's uncertain. Is a decision required immediately? If so, I wouldn't return. Fortunately, I donāt have to do that. I'll simply watch how things unfold.ā
Pressed on which situations would need to occur to tempt his return to the touchline, he revealed he isn't eager for a comeback. āIt's unclear to me, My present work fulfills me,ā he commented. āNo longing for management; I avoid standing under bad weather through long matches; No need for media briefings four times, three times a week or constant media duties each week.
āNo nostalgia for the changing area in that context, yet sharing a meal with the players talking freely, thatās nice. Success was frequent so there was often great spirits around the place. Remaining with me is Virgil [Van Dijkās] laugh ringing in my ears as an instance.ā
Klopp was full of praise of the current boss, praising him due to the changes which secured the championship in the previous season. They've been defeated four in a row in every contest after a summer spending spree, but he rubbished the notion of it representing the start of a downward turn.
ā[Liverpool have] a top-class attacker such as Wirtz, you will all eat your words if spoken against. Heās an incredible talent. Ekitike, excellent performer. This is a well-built well-judged squad. No need for concern regarding the Reds, things will improve.ā
Klopp also spoke emotionally regarding the passing of Diogo Jota, a player he signed while in charge, and its impact at the club. The forward died tragically in a vehicle collision alongside his brother recently.
āHow do you replace somebody like Diogo? It goes beyond his on-field talent, his personality mattered. I struggle to conceive the team environment missing him. Putting it into words is tough on this topic. It was an incredible shock for all the boys too. No one within the club would cite it to justify results but it is the situation. Being in that space where his spirit remains. Dealing with that on a personal level is difficult. Unbearable.ā
