The Renowned Musician Urges Support to Send Together for Palestine Song to UK Festive Top Spot.

A campaign is aiming to launch a traditional song from Palestine to the Christmas number one spot. The project aims to provide aid to communities in Gaza while also showcasing Palestinian artistic heritage.

An Opportunity for Unity and an "Unlikely Coup"

Musician and artist Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the single 'Lullaby' represents a moment to stand with Palestinians this festive season. He noted the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

ā€œIt would be incredible if that came to pass, yes,ā€ he stated. ā€œI wouldn't be completely disappointed if it doesn't manage to, festive releases are a thing unto themselves.ā€

Defiant Message of Freedom and Dignity

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the adaptation of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's resilient spirit.

ā€œIt has a very special place for countless listeners,ā€ Barghouti explained. ā€œIt’s basically saying that I would rather die in dignity than exist without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we desire to exist a dignified life that we merit as a people.ā€

Track's Background and Star-Studded Lineup

The single was laid down after a large-scale benefit event held in September. Initially planned to be performed and recorded live, the piece was omitted from the lengthy event due to time constraints.

The notable list of performers appearing on Lullaby features a range of well-known figures from the scene. All took part in the earlier concert, which successfully generated a considerable total for humanitarian aid.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was produced by a team of talented individuals. The song showcases a mix of the original Arabic with contemporary English verses.

The organizers behind the project have emphasized that their objective is to raise as much as possible for a charitable pot. These resources will be allocated to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an established charity.

ā€œThere is no a specific target,ā€ a representative commented. ā€œWe’ll go for whatever we can get. Of course, the greater the amount, the better. Every penny goes out to those in need in Gaza.ā€

The context in the area was characterized as its widespread damage, with a overwhelming percentage of buildings said to be in ruins or severely impacted.

ā€œIn that context, a couple of million won't make an enormous impact. But I think the significant factor is above all making this cause better known and demonstrating that another narrative exists.ā€

The song is set to be released this Friday. Additionally, a full recording of the charity concert will be made available for streaming on a digital service from the 19th of December.
